The Companies
KODE Biotech Limited is a private company established in 1996 to commercialise and license KODE™ technology. In 2009 a second separate company was formed, KODE Biotech Materials Ltd. KODE Biotech Ltd is the licensor of existing, and developer of new KODE™ technology. KODE Biotech Materials Ltd is an authorized supplier of KODE™ FSL constructs and operates under quality standards. Both companies, although separate legal entities, are represented by this website.
KODE™ technology has already been licensed to several large companies, and an example of a product incorporating KODE™ technology that is already in the market is Securacell™
KODE Biotech Ltd, and KODE Biotech Materials Ltd, are independent companies, both sited on the AUT University campus and have forged a strong symbiotic relationship with AUT’s Biotechnology Research Institute (BRI).

KODE Biotech Limited was founded in 1996 by Steve Henry. Steve is additionally a Professor at AUT University (Chief Executive - Biotechnology, Scott Laboratories and Director of the Biotechnology Research Institute, Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences). Steve has a strong research and management background holding PhD’s in Biochemistry (Auckland) and Medicine (Göteborg), plus other tertiary qualifications in science/laboratory medicine, education and business. He has published over 130 scientific articles, and is an inventor on more than 20 KODE™ Technology patent applications.
Steve’s main hobby is coastal sailing on his cruising yacht Iemanja
Laurel King
(OPERATIONS & QA MANAGER – KODE BIOTECH LTD)

Laurel King joined KODE Biotech Limited in May 2007 as the Operations Manager. She manages the operational, financial and quality assurance functions of both companies. Laurel has significant administrative experience across a number of industries including banking, travel, accountancy and quality assurance.
