GalNAcα3(Fucα2)Galβ-Spacer1-Lipid1
FSL-A(tri) is a KODE™ technology construct designed to label hydrophobic surfaces including living cells with blood group A trisaccharide. All KODE™ FSL constructs consist of three essential designable features; a functional component (F), a spacer (S), and a diacyl lipid (L). FSL-A(GALNa3[Fa2]GALb)-SA1-L1 is comprised of the blood group A trisaccharide GalNAcα3(Fucα2)Galβ representing F, conjugated via an O(CH2)3NH spacer (SA1) to an activated adipate derivative of dioleoylphosphatidylethanolamine (L1).
FSL-A(tri) has been specifically designed to create live cells (kodecytes) expressing blood group A antigens but can also be used to modify other hydrophobic surfaces including fixed cells and solid phase surfaces. This product can be used to attach reproducible and controlled levels of blood group A antigens (generic A due to its trisaccharide structure) to group O or B erythrocytes2. These kodecytes will react with most anti-A blood grouping reagents including polyclonal reagents.

GalNα3(Fucα2)Galβ-Spacer1-Lipid1
FSL-AcqB(tri) is a KODE™ technology construct designed to label hydrophobic surfaces including living cells with deacetylated blood group A trisaccharide (also known as acquired-B antigen). All KODE™ FSL constructs consist of three essential designable features; a functional component (F), a spacer (S), and a diacyl lipid (L).
FSL-ACB(GALN(Ac-)a3[Fa2]GALb)-SA1-L1 is comprised of deacetylated blood group A trisaccharide GalNα3(Fucα2)Galβ representing F, conjugated via an O(CH2)3NH spacer (SA1) to an activated adipate derivative of dioleoylphosphatidylethanolamine (L1).
All FSL constructs disperse in biocompatible media and spontaneously and stably incorporate into cell membranes. Cells modified with KODE™ constructs are known as kodecytes and usually maintain their normal vitality and functionality.
Acquired-B antigen expression is usually caused by a bacterial infection that causes in vivo deacetylation of blood group A antigen. This may result in non-blood group B reactivity with some anti-B reagents. FSL-AcqB(tri) has been specifically designed to create cells (kodecytes) expressing blood group Acquired-B antigens but can also be used to modify other hydrophobic surfaces including fixed cells and solid phase surfaces. This product can be used to attach reproducible and controlled levels of blood group acquired-B antigens to group O erythrocytes . Acquired-B kodecytes should react with most anti-B and anti-A,B blood grouping reagents that also show reactivity against acquired-B antigen. |

Galα3(Fucα2)Galβ-Spacer1-Lipid1
FSL-B(tri) is a KODE™ technology construct designed to label hydrophobic surfaces including living cells with blood group B trisaccharide. FSL-B(GALa3[Fa2]GALb)-SA1-L1 is comprised of the blood group B trisaccharide Galα3(Fucα2)Galβ representing F, conjugated via an O(CH2)3NH spacer (SA1) to an activated adipate derivative of dioleoylphosphatidylethanolamine (L1).

FSL-B(tri) has been specifically designed to create live cells (kodecytes) expressing blood group B antigens but can also be used to modify other hydrophobic surfaces including fixed cells and solid phase surfaces. This product can be used to attach reproducible and controlled levels of blood group B antigens (generic B due to its trisaccharide structure) to group O or A erythrocytes. These kodecytes will react with most anti-B blood grouping reagents including polyclonal reagents. It is of note that higher concentrations of FSL-B(tri) are required than FSL- A(tri) to achieve similar serology – this is believed to be due to the nature of antibodies to B antigen. |

Galα3Galβ4GlcNAcβ-Spacer1-Lipid1
FSL-Galili(tri) is a KODETM technology construct designed to label hydrophobic surfaces including living cells with the ubiquitous animal antigen Galili. Human cells are Galilli antigen negative. All KODE™ FSL constructs consist of three essential designable features; a functional component (F), a spacer (S), and a diacyl lipid (L).
FSL-GALILI(GALa3GALb4GLCNb)-SA1-L1 is comprised of the Galili trisaccharide Galα3Galβ4GlcNAcβ representing F, conjugated via an O(CH2)3NH spacer (SA1) to an activated adipate derivative of dioleoylphosphatidylethanolamine (L1). All FSL constructs disperse in biocompatible media and spontaneously and stably incorporate into cell membranes. Cells modified with KODETM constructs are known as kodecytes1 and usually maintain their normal vitality and functionality.
FSL-Galili(tri) has been specifically designed to create human cells (kodecytes) expressing controlled levels of the animal Galili antigen but can also be used to modify other hydrophobic surfaces including fixed cells and solid phase surfaces. This product can be used to modify Galili negative red cells to create kodecytes that can quantitate 2 antibodies directed against the Galili antigen . These Galili-kodecytes will react with almost all human serum, the degree of reactivity determined by the level of antibody present (and level of FSL antigen inserted). |
